Disney Wish Stateroom 13000 Tour Princess Aurora Royal Suite

disney cruise ship suites

There are two main differences – firstly, instead of a double sofa bed, you get a single sofa bed and a second pull-down bed in the rooms that sleep five (some only sleep four). The Concierge 1-Bed Suites are around a third of the size of the Royal Suites, and instead of a double pull-down bed in the living area they have a double sofa bed. They still have plenty of space for five guests, although the verandah is a lot smaller and doesn’t have a whirlpool bath.

Disney Dream staterooms review, floor plans, photos

More recently, I sailed as a paying passenger on a regularly scheduled sailing in a one-bedroom suite. The Oceanview category of staterooms (Category 8 and 9) features rooms with scenic vistas through genuine porthole windows. The Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom is perfect for families, while the Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom provides a more intimate setting. Some rooms in this category offer partial views, but all provide a comfortable and relaxing space. Verandah staterooms are Disney’s most spacious non-concierge accommodations, each with its own balcony outside the ship where you can enjoy the fresh air while watching the ocean go by. The Concierge Wish Tower Suite and the Concierge Royal Suite are the ship’s most spacious and lavishly appointed rooms.

The unique accommodation is sized 1965 ft2 (183 m2) and with interior design inspired by Walt Disney's 3D animation film "Moana" (2016). Most Oceanview staterooms have a Large Round Window (Porthole/non-opening). Of those, categories 9C-9D are with obstructed views (due to lifeboats). The Penthouse's piece de resistance is a hand-crafted porcelain sculpture coming alive. When passengers enter the room, they find the statue pulsing in hues of green amid soft chimes recalling the movie's soundtrack, revealing as the heart of Te Fiti. The Suite's magical experience also includes special lighting and sound effects to provide a one-of-a-kind greeting.

For Disney Cruise Line, stateroom is a first-of-its-kind accommodation, located high in the forward funnel above the upper decks, guests enter via a special entry accessible via a private elevator from Deck 10 and 12 to deck 14. Additionally, there is a nondescript door to a stairwell is located on deck 12, just off the upper deck. Disney Cruise Line is already more expensive than most family-oriented cruise lines, and Disney Wish is the most expensive of the Disney ships. Add concierge access on top of that and, well, it's certainly not cheap.

Exceptional Customer Service

Cousin Orville took over the coolest stateroom on the ship, and rigged up something pretty clever, he calls it automatic blinds. Have you stayed in either Royal Suite aboard the Disney Wish, what did you think about it? When you choose to apply (and are approved) for a new credit card through our site, we may receive compensation from our partners, and this may impact how or where these products appear. Please view our advertising policy and product review methodology for more information. Concierge level is also worth it if you want the best service that Disney Cruise Line has to offer. Either way, the primary bedroom area was mostly occupied by the bed, so there wasn't much room for anything other than a side table and a dresser.

Concierge 1-Bedroom Suite

Disney Cruise Line offers a range of options that promise comfort and an element of elegance and grandeur, from comfortable interiors to roomy suites suited for royalty. The Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms on Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream are the smallest in the entire fleet when you are looking at rooms that sleep up to five guests. They measure 241 square feet, which isn’t tiny, but don’t expect to have a lot of personal space if you’re filling the queen bed, the single sofa and both pull-down beds.

Upon entering the room, you are welcomed into a foyer with a spiral staircase leading to the second story and a pantry area with wet bar. The space is open with one side a dining table and the other side a sitting area. The sitting area doubles as a sleeping area with the couch converting to a queen bed. The entire suite features floor to ceiling windows for a view out over the bow.

The wet bar is perfect for entertaining, and the large private verandah with a whirlpool tub is the ideal place to relax. One main bathroom is with a bathtub and a rain shower, the other main bathroom has only a walk-in rain shower. All balcony rooms feature a private veranda with sliding doors (kid-proof locks), plexiglass railings, outdoor deck furniture (2 chairs, 1 small table). Categories 6A-6B have wall balconies, while categories 5A-5B-5C are with plexiglass. Staterooms 5188 and 5688 (deck 5 aft location) are with very small (triangle-shaped) balconies. Family Verandah rooms (category 3A are with concierge service) have a queen (or 2 twin beds), a hidden bunk bed, larger living area (double sofa /convertible), split bathroom.

Throughout the Art Deco-style suite, each room is adorned with original Disney artwork. We appreciated having two separate bedrooms in the Walt Suite, which provided ample privacy. Having three bathrooms is really handy when everyone is in a rush to get dressed in the morning to go ashore. It’s also helpful when traveling with little ones as they never have to wait to use the restroom. "Each of our theme parks has a majestic icon that captures our guests' imaginations," Laura Cabo, portfolio creative executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, said in a statement shared with Travel + Leisure.

Some of the suites can accommodate up to seven guests, meaning you don’t have to split your family between multiple staterooms. The Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah offers a blend of comfort and value. While it doesn’t match up to the luxury of the Concierge staterooms, it doesn’t skimp on space or features either. These rooms, found on various decks, provide up to 284 square feet of space, which is quite ample. The Disney Wish sails with a host of room options that are perfect for larger families. On this grand vessel, you’ll discover a variety of suites and staterooms designed to accommodate 5 or 6 guests, ensuring everyone has enough space to stretch out and relax.

Now, she helps over 1 million people per month to plan their perfect cruise holidays. It’s always worth checking whether paying for two smaller connecting rooms would be better than one larger family room, though. These are limited on Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, though, so you need to book early to secure them. Otherwise, the room has similar amenities to the Verandah version – only, instead of the verandah itself, you get porthole windows – either one large or two smaller ones, depending on the specific stateroom you get. These rooms are still incredibly spacious, at 945 square feet, and you get two full bathrooms and a half bathroom to make it much easier for everyone to get ready for their day of adventure.

However, it can easily cost more than double that price to sail in a concierge room during peak holiday dates, when the price of the suites quickly crosses the $10,000 mark for a family. Disney divides the rooms into categories A, B, and C based on attractiveness. Category 11A rooms are found on upper decks and near the ship’s middle, while 11B rooms are on lower decks. The Concierge Royal Suite with Verandah stateroom is the largest and most luxurious suite offered on Disney’s Dream, Fantasy, Magic, and Wonder.

On Wish, that hall was instead used for storage, which was OK but a little awkward, especially because the doors were so tough to open that my 7-year-old couldn't always do it without help. If someone happens to pull out the keycard that allows the lights to come on inside — which happened to us during our cruise — heaven help you, as it is pitch black and almost creepy in there. Frankly, the entire bathroom was divine and felt far more like what you'd find in a hotel than in a cruise cabin, thanks to its spacious layout.
